A YuDu Day...Screen Printing My Tail Off

Have spent most of the day making t-shirts. My good friends have a live show coming up this Friday and I have been screen printing some shirts with their logo so they can sell them at the show.

I have been on a roll. Over 25 shirts made so far and 10 more to go. Needed to wash the screen and take a break and thought this would be a perfect time to make a blog posting.

I really enjoy the YuDu machine. At times it can get frustrating, it can be very temperamental. But the more projects I do the easier it gets. Sometimes I feel I forget all the tricks and tips I learn from each screen printing run. My problem is I never write anything down, so I find myself relearning a bit each time I use it. It has been a great investment and don't think I would able to complete projects like this any other way. For large productions of shirts, like I am doing now, this machine is awesome. I don't think it is cost effective if you want to make one of a kind shirts. Though I have heard you can use the freezer paper method with the YuDu screens. I haven't tried this yet but will in the future. I have made a shirt by applying vinyl to the screen instead of the emulsion sheet, but this method would only last for a few shirts. There are some great videos about using the YuDu on Youtube. This is where I have learned most of my techniques. If you have a YuDu or want to buy a YuDu and have questions, please feel free to email me or comment and I will try and help the best I can.

And here is an upclose shot of their logo. Please check them out. You can visit and learn more about them at SundayMorningMimosa.com. They have a podcast on Itunes and perform live shows across New York, and hopefully the world soon. They are described as "The World's First Character Driven Comedy Podcast!" You can listen to thier weekly show for free, just search for them on Itunes!

Create-a-Critter Cards Again

Here's another set of three cards I made with the Create-a-Critter cart for the Cricut. This cart is so addicting and very easy to use. I went to a crop Sunday and was working on these projects. They were a hit, and everyone wanted me to make them one, lol. I have a ton of requests to make before our next get together. I made the shape cards using the Gypsy to weld two shadows of the shape together, and them placed the layers on top. They are super quick to make, less than 5 mins a card.

Here's the cards individually,

I love this owl, I think I might add a phrase to this, just don't know what yet. Any suggestions would be great.

This penguin is adorable, love the scarf.

And I think this seal is too cute.
Need to focus on making a layout with this cart next, but the problem is the cards are so quick and easy to make. There is a lot of good ideas on the Cricut board using this cart for layouts and home decor.
Please leave comments and follow if you can.

Create-a-Critter Cards

I am officially obsessed with this cart. Create-a-Critter has so many great cuts. These animals are too cute. These are some quick cards I put together. The layers are so easy to put together, and they look like a lot of work were put into them. I am going to a crop/birthday party this Sunday and think I will spend the whole day making cards and layouts with this cart.

Here's each card individual:

Cut the squirrel at 3.5 inches. Used DCWV cardstock and base card. And used Hampton Art Stamps for the phrase. Stamp set is called Woodland Animals

Cut the deer at 3.5 inches and the tree at 3 inches. Used the same supplies as above.

For this card I used the Gypsy to weld two shadows of the squirrel. Flipped one of the shadows and nudged them together to weld. Used 4.5 inches as the size. Then I cut the layers of the squirrel again at 4.5 inches. Made a fold where the shapes met up to make a card.

I really love making the shape card. It was super easy to do with the Gypsy, and Design Studio would work just as well. Can't wait to make more of these. And it will be fun to make some shape mini-albums as well.

Please leave comments and remember to follow if you want. Thanks!!!

Cricut Create-a-Critter & CTMH Stamps

Here are a set of three cards I just completed using my Cricut and Close to My Heart Stamps. I got the Create-a-Critter cart last week and was finally able to use it today. It is so great, and I think it's my new favorite. The cuts on this cart are just too cute. I can see myself using this over and over again. I love the Japanese style of Kawaii, and this cart has it all over it. Kawaii means lovable or adorable in Japanese. This style is all over the place. Google image the term Kawaii and you see tons of cute images. Often its images of inanimate objects with little black eyes and a smile. So adorable. Will be posting more cards and projects using this cart soon.

Here's a picture of the 3 cards I did.

For the cupcake card used DCWV glitter cardstock to cut the cupcake, stickles, patterned paper from a DCWV stack, and used the Close to My Heart stamp set It's Your Day (D1352).

For this card cut cat with DCWV cardstock, Bazzill Bling cardstock, used a DCWV card base, and stamped saying with Close to My Heart stamp set Purr.fect (B1273).

Used the same supplies as above minus the Bazzill Bling for this cat.

These were such fun and easy cards to make. The cuts look very detailed and layered, but they were super quick and easy to put together. Thanks for stopping by and please leave comments.

You Rock Cards Part II

These are the next 3 cards I made with the You Rock Kit from Close to My Heart. I used the Wishes How-To Book for the card design. This book makes it easy to get ideas for cards. I just placed an order for the Originals Card Confidence Program book, so will post some projects from there when I receive it. I love the workshop ideas in the Wishes book and hope that the Originals has workshops also, will let you know.

Here are the 3 cards together:
