Jinger Adams' HSN Card Contest: My Submission & Giveaway Soon

Jinger Adams of ProvoCraft is having a card contest in association with HSN to give away the newest Provocraft product called the Yudu CardShop. Here's the link for some information about this new product.

For this contest you had to use one of three Cricut carts and Anna Griffin products. For this card I used the Don Juan cart (for lips and card shape) and used Anna Griffin's Peyton Collection (vellum quote & epoxy embellishment). Also used Paper Studios brads and patterned paper (Safari Untamed).

I wasn't going to post until after the contest ended but the most recent update of the contest said it was okay to post and share the card. Here are some other pics of the card.

I love the vellum quotes that are apart of the Peyton Collection, and the quote from Fiona Apple is one of my favorites. This was a fun contest and I hope to win, fingers crossed. I mailed my card out yesterday.

Here is the link to Jinger's Facebook page that has detail of the contest.

Also I will be drawing a winner of my blog candy at some point tonight. If you would like to enter please check out this post.

Get Whale Soon Card with Imagine More Cards & Cricut Imgaine...Giveaway Reminder

Here's a fun and quick card I put together using the Imagine More Cards Art Cart for the Imagine. Again this is becoming one of my favorite carts to use with the Imagine. It is so easy to put one of these great designed cards together, and by adding dimensional adhesive to them they look really good.

I cut this design at 3 1/2 inches. All the elements of the card was able to fit on half of a 12x12 sheet. For the card base, I used my Gypsy and the Smiley Cards Cart to cut a 3 1/2 circle card base. I remember that this cart had lots of card bases, and I'm sure there are many different carts that have a circle card base.

To make the card pop I used dimensional adhesive in a couple of different place. This adds a nice element to the card. Here's a good pic of that

Also I have a giveaway going on the blog for some Close to My Heart Stamps. Follow this link:

All you have to do is be a follower (or become a follower) and leave a comment under that post. Will be drawing the winner of the giveaway tomorrow evening.

Thanks for stopping by, till next time.

Kate's Kitchen Recipe Project (Cricut Imagine & Kate's Kitchen)

Here's my latest project. This was so fun to do! I used the Cricut Imagine and the Kate's Kitchen art cart. I made this recipe project to give to a great friend who loves to cook. I started this project and was finally able to complete it today.

For this project I used the Kate's Kitchen art cart and the From My Kitchen cart. The recipe album is one of the bonus cuts from the Kate's Kitchen. I cut that image at the Fit to Page feature, so don't know the true size. This cut the front, back and to recipe cards on a 12x12 piece of paper. I also cut two additional recipe cards from the bonus section of the cart 2 times for a total of 4 other recipe cards, an overall total of 6 recipe cards. For these cuts I cut them out at 8.2 inches true size, this was size that most matched a true 4x6 recipe card.

I embellished these recipe cards with image cuts from the Kate's cart. These were all cut at 2inches at true size. These printed and cut so well, and came out so cute. I broke the layers up to get the exact pieces I wanted. For the word art I used the words from From My Kitchen cart, cut them at 1 inch and colored them in with the Imagine and colors from the Kate's cart, this way they matched really well.

I had some kitchy recipe cards I had gotten at Michales in the dollar bin and have been meaning to use these forever. This was the perfect project for them. I used the Big Bite to punch holes through the recipe cards and put all the pieces together with a couple of jump rings.

Here are some more pics

I love this toaster

The kitchy recipe cards

Cute containers

Sugar, spice, and everything nice

Aprons and oven mitts

Love this little spoon

Adorable cupcakes

Back of recipe project

I was able to fit 30 recipe cards in this little project, 5 behind each embellished recipe card. The bonus cut has a little stand that you attach to the back of the recipe card. I am so surprised, but it really holds it up, which makes it functional and can be used as a decor.

Till next time!!!

New Close To My Heart Catalog/Idea Book: Inspirations Now Available To See

The newest Close To My Heart Idea catalog is now available to see online. Here is the link to the new catalog.

There are some great products in this mini idea book and some fantastic deals as well. This is a small catalog showcasing some of the products that will be available in the new full size idea book that will be available in February.

I have gotten a chance to see the new products that will be available to purchase in February and I think that the new paper lines, stamps, and embellishments are awesome. Close To My Heart gets better with each new catalog.

This is the only catalog/idea book that you will be able to get the Jan. stamp set of the month, called Find Your Style. I love this artwork, so artsy and vintage. See it below.

Here are some flyers that explain the discounts available for this idea book and how to earn the Jan. stamp of the month for free.

I am waiting for my things from this catalog to arrive shortly, and will be posting some pics and projects once I get these new products. Please email me with any questions and visit my Close To My Heart website if you are interested in buying anything. Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!

New Year's Banner

Happy New Year!

I made this banner for a New Years Party we had at our place last night. I tried to get it posted on the blog yesterday but ran out of time trying to get everything ready for the party. I started this project on Wednesday, and finished it up on Thursday evening. This was a fun project to complete and I've really enjoyed making banners. I think I will keep this one up until the next one I make.

For this project I used the Cricut (of course). The carts I used for this are Birthday Bash (the banner shape), Martha Stewart Holiday Cakes (for the starburst & circles) & Don Juan (for the font). I used the Gypsy to be able to cut two of the banner shapes from a 12x12 piece of paper. Using the Birthday Bash cart with the Gypsy made making the banner pieces very easy. There are a number of different banner shapes on the cart, and it is really great that the banner shapes have the holes cut out in them. I cut these shapes at 8 inches. I cut the starburst and circles at 4 1/2 and 4 inches, and I cut the font with shadow at 3 1/4 inches.

I used Die Cuts With a View papers. The All Dressed Up Stack, Metalics Stack, and the Glitter Cardstock Metallics Stack I found at Michaels. The colors matched up very well and they cut very easy in the Cricut. One thing I have found while using these thick papers is to use multicut for 2 passes, this makes it much simpler for the Cricut to cut it completely all the way through.

Here are some pics of the banner and some upclose shots of some of the banner pieces. The photos aren't the best, and I wish i could get a pic of the whole thing, but I think the banner is almost 10 feet across end to end. I am glad it fit perfectly across the lip of the ceiling wall. Luck was on my side because I didn't do any measurements before hand.

Happy

New

Year

2011

To hang the banner I strung the pieces on ribbon. I ended up having to use two different ribbons because I didn't have enough to use the same. To join the ribbons I stapled them together. Seems to be holding up pretty well.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment and become a follower if you like!

Also so excited, almost up to 150 followers! Will do a give-a-way once that happens. I have some Close To My Heart stamps that need a new home.

Till next time!
