I used the Teresa Collins Chic & Scary cart for the Cricut. I really like this cart. Has a ton of great classic Halloween images.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">For these cards I used some Die Cuts With a View paper mat stacks. The ones that were available at Joanns this year and last. I also used DCWV glitter cardstock to cut the images. To give the images more dimension I cut the same image at the same size in a dark pearlaized cardstock. This cart does not have a shadow feature and the images can look a little flat. Cutting a faux shadow and off setting it a bit makes it look a lot better than just the image itself. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Also to finish the look of the cards I added some heat embossed labels with the Happy Halloween greeting. Here are a ton of pictures below. Got to do a variety of cards in a short time.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; I love decorating the house for this time of year. We usually decorate the house around this time and keep the Halloween decor up until we decorate for Christmas.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I saw this paper mache hat at Michales and knew it would look really great glittered, and maybe sitting on top of the television. I recently picked up some Scor-Tape at my LSS. I had read that it adhered glitter very well. It did not disappoint and worked really well.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TA_AD6vOhzY/TnQGjiIx4UI/AAAAAAAAA3w/VOmwy0KkbQA/s1600/IMG_0572.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" rba="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TA_AD6vOhzY/TnQGjiIx4UI/AAAAAAAAA3w/VOmwy0KkbQA/s320/IMG_0572.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I used Making Memories and Martha Stewart ultrafine glitters. The Score-Tape is really sticky so I am sure coarser glitter and microbeads would work well also. </div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Xc2_DZCyJOU/TnQGu-xtPpI/AAAAAAAAA30/CDh82oWW9MQ/s1600/IMG_0577.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" rba="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Xc2_DZCyJOU/TnQGu-xtPpI/AAAAAAAAA30/CDh82oWW9MQ/s320/IMG_0577.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Start of the bands</td></tr></tbody></table><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">For the brim of the hat I used Martha Stewart glittering glue and her black glitter. It worked out well and looks really nice. I recently purchased some new acyclic paints from Michales by Martha Stewart. They are now selling a new line of acrylic paints by her which include different types: gloss, satin, pearl, metallic, and glitter. The bottle of the glitter paints states it can be used for metal, glass, wood, and fabric, also indoor/outdoor. I thought it would work for the paper mache hat but it did not. The glitter paint did not spread well on the paper mache. I wonder if the glitter paint does not work well on paper materials. Will have to try in the future on other paper materials and post my findings here.</div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--jXtcbAWzTQ/TnQG4-EZ8WI/AAAAAAAAA34/tfwhaqjurjk/s1600/IMG_0579.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" rba="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--jXtcbAWzTQ/TnQG4-EZ8WI/AAAAAAAAA34/tfwhaqjurjk/s320/IMG_0579.JPG" width="240" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Finished look</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cJIQBXBA4gI/TnQHO_MFU8I/AAAAAAAAA4A/IQkBsoJD73s/s1600/IMG_0585.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" rba="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cJIQBXBA4gI/TnQHO_MFU8I/AAAAAAAAA4A/IQkBsoJD73s/s320/IMG_0585.JPG" width="240" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><div align="center">Like the sparkle</div></td></tr></tbody></table></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;">This was a fun and quick project to complete. I am so pleased the way this turned out. One of my guy's cowokers asked if I could make them a Tinkerbell Quinceanera card. I have the Tinkerbell and Friends Cricut Cart and was glad to have a project to use it again (only my second time). One issues I have with this cart is all the tiny intricate cuts. Sometimes these very layered carts seem impossible. This is where using the Imagine has such great possibilities. I was able to combine all the layers(different colored) and print it as one image. To see this step see the Lotso card I previously posted and it will give you my steps and the link to the blog that has all the details. The Cricut Craftroom was recently updated and from what I have read the ability to cut after printing combined layers no longer works correctly. So I printed this in the middle of the mat and used boarder punches to add some detail. </div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uIm8WueeTa8/TmWP1RI7_cI/AAAAAAAAA3Q/kXj5YvuKUDk/s1600/IMG_9415.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" nba="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uIm8WueeTa8/TmWP1RI7_cI/AAAAAAAAA3Q/kXj5YvuKUDk/s320/IMG_9415.JPG" width="237" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Closer detail</td></tr></tbody></table><div style="text-align: center;">For this project I used:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">DCWV White cardstock (that is what I printed the Tinkerbell image on)</div><div style="text-align: center;">DCWV Gliiter cardstock (scallop circle)</div><div style="text-align: center;">Bazzill Bling (card base)</div><div style="text-align: center;">Tinkerbell and Friends Cricut Cart</div><div style="text-align: center;">CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cart (scallop circle and circle shape)</div><div style="text-align: center;">CTMH mini alphabet stamp set (Atomic)</div><div style="text-align: center;">Stickles</div><div style="text-align: center;">Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page Set (??? the name of the set)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ceq8BWmbM9A/TmWP6TiH4CI/AAAAAAAAA3U/oRVFSbSc810/s1600/IMG_9409.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="237" nba="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ceq8BWmbM9A/TmWP6TiH4CI/AAAAAAAAA3U/oRVFSbSc810/s320/IMG_9409.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Fairy dust</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TpSukpAciBw/TmWQD2JnQdI/AAAAAAAAA3Y/EQvVk-r18E8/s1600/IMG_9412.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="237" nba="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TpSukpAciBw/TmWQD2JnQdI/AAAAAAAAA3Y/EQvVk-r18E8/s320/IMG_9412.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Upclose of Tink</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jXoq6YOBLD8/TmWQIhdnCKI/AAAAAAAAA3c/CyLOasxlGgo/s1600/IMG_9413.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="232" nba="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jXoq6YOBLD8/TmWQIhdnCKI/AAAAAAAAA3c/CyLOasxlGgo/s320/IMG_9413.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Upclose of stamping</td></tr></tbody></table><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">When I picked the colors for Tinkerbell I just eyeballed it from the colors available in a couple of the Imagine palettes. I read online you can add a little vegetable oil to thin it out and this seemed to to the trick. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">For some of the pops I added sprinkles or candies right after I dipped them in the candy melts. This way the candy melts were still soft and the sprinkles adhered and didn't fall off. And another trick in the book and that I read online was to place the finished pops in a Styrofoam block. Keeps them upright and easy to serve them on this as well.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_HNT7LxH7Wc/Tl2RcFbaAtI/AAAAAAAAA3A/_6AjN-WIwbg/s1600/IMG_0417.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_HNT7LxH7Wc/Tl2RcFbaAtI/AAAAAAAAA3A/_6AjN-WIwbg/s320/IMG_0417.JPG" width="240" xaa="true" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eA7TGW0BqSw/Tl2RjQReiJI/AAAAAAAAA3E/Sw4AIIa6Rh0/s1600/IMG_0420.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eA7TGW0BqSw/Tl2RjQReiJI/AAAAAAAAA3E/Sw4AIIa6Rh0/s320/IMG_0420.JPG" width="320" xaa="true" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">These were really fun to make and looking forward to making them again. When I first starting crafting my main focus was scrapbooking, but lately I have been making cards or decor items. And also using my Yudu here and there, as well as making cake pops (blog post in the future). I am so behind on my scrapbook albums. These pics are from out first trip to Disneyland in March of 2009 (can't believe more than two years ago). </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">It was so great to get a new layout done. I really enjoy scrapbooking so much. I have many layouts from this album but I find it so hard to get a good photo of scrapbook layouts, any suggestions? I used to scan and stitch a layout, but my newer printer/scanner does not do a good job, so these photos are from the camera.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">For this layout I used the Cricut Imagine Buccaneer Art cart. I was so excited when ProvoCraft released this cart for the Imagine. There are so many great pirate images and backgrounds. After making the print and cuts the simple layout went together quickly.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here are the individual pics of each page:</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8SHrK5K1sGI/TlRinlFyFEI/AAAAAAAAA10/V1WDZDQmNQk/s1600/IMG_0501.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" qaa="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8SHrK5K1sGI/TlRinlFyFEI/AAAAAAAAA10/V1WDZDQmNQk/s320/IMG_0501.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QZt6Dbq1ytQ/TlRiyYaUMhI/AAAAAAAAA14/0VvTUT4w1Z4/s1600/IMG_0509.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" qaa="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QZt6Dbq1ytQ/TlRiyYaUMhI/AAAAAAAAA14/0VvTUT4w1Z4/s320/IMG_0509.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This layout was about a dinner we had at the Blue Bayou in Disneyland. Such a great place, the food and scenery was awesome.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">All the elements including the background paper was from the Buccaneer cart. I really like that you can print patterned/background paper with the Imagine. I love the first page's scene of the treasure map, so cool. The pirate ships came out really great, so detailed. Its really great to have sizable printed embellishments. Sometimes I find when using embellishments or stickers that are bought it maybe perfect but either to big or to small. So having the option to resize these elements is really helpful.</div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

I made a set of 16 thank you cards for my guy. Recently threw him a b-day BBQ. We had such a great time and many of our friends got him such fun gifts. So I wanted to make a fun card to give thanks. I have had this Muchas Gracias stamp set from a while. I got it at Joanns, I think it may have been a dollar stamp set. I never used it because I had a hard time finding a good way to color my stamped images. I've tried a number of things but really never loved the look. But recently I dove into the world of Copic markers, and I am really pleased. I was lucky to get a great deal off the message boards to start my collection. And now that Michaels carries them (although my local ones don't yet) it will make them cheaper to by, got to love coupons. Also Michaels has a list of 60 colors they will carry, and a color chart online to keep track of what you have. So I will base my collection on these colors and go from there if needed.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Jt5m0cO2JOc/Tk2wl-BTi1I/AAAAAAAAA1I/xK1STjHbWDE/s1600/IMG_0520.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" qaa="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Jt5m0cO2JOc/Tk2wl-BTi1I/AAAAAAAAA1I/xK1STjHbWDE/s320/IMG_0520.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">To make the card base I used the new Close To My Heart Cricut Cart Art Philosophy. The cart has some great basic and detailed shapes. And there is a card feature for each image. So I used one of the square shape with rounded-in corners. I cut the card base at 5 1/4 inches in the light green cardstock. I then cut the shape with the 1st layer at 5 inches. This way you can still see the card base and you don't have to worry about lining it up perfectly.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here's a bunch of images of the cards</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YVl8uhApfks/Tk2wryNKIvI/AAAAAAAAA1M/6Po7_L2RiyM/s1600/IMG_0522.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="237" qaa="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YVl8uhApfks/Tk2wryNKIvI/AAAAAAAAA1M/6Po7_L2RiyM/s320/IMG_0522.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CbxnOxdSsng/Tk2wyyUzv_I/AAAAAAAAA1Q/zCFsrMIkTqA/s1600/IMG_0524.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" qaa="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CbxnOxdSsng/Tk2wyyUzv_I/AAAAAAAAA1Q/zCFsrMIkTqA/s320/IMG_0524.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b_rEQssylkE/Tk2w35-0SyI/AAAAAAAAA1U/tJ6dzxGvgz8/s1600/IMG_0527.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="226" qaa="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b_rEQssylkE/Tk2w35-0SyI/AAAAAAAAA1U/tJ6dzxGvgz8/s320/IMG_0527.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-z82c0rHN8VI/Tk2w_jjPx5I/AAAAAAAAA1Y/DVLdtugeaXw/s1600/IMG_0529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" qaa="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-z82c0rHN8VI/Tk2w_jjPx5I/AAAAAAAAA1Y/DVLdtugeaXw/s320/IMG_0529.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-P-la1rECrS8/Tk2xFLlQ99I/AAAAAAAAA1c/3gSmGaTN6OY/s1600/IMG_0530.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" qaa="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-P-la1rECrS8/Tk2xFLlQ99I/AAAAAAAAA1c/3gSmGaTN6OY/s320/IMG_0530.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jI-nJvTQiNQ/Tk2xNw4otSI/AAAAAAAAA1g/5YNmtyUhXHI/s1600/IMG_0531.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" qaa="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jI-nJvTQiNQ/Tk2xNw4otSI/AAAAAAAAA1g/5YNmtyUhXHI/s320/IMG_0531.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This was a great set of cards to make and went very quickly. I love the dimensional look of the layered cuts, but sometimes, especially with the Disney carts, it becomes difficult because of all the intricate small pieces. This has been a feature that people have wanted but no one knew how. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">But recently the blog titled Cricut Craft Room Blog figured it out, and I couldn't be happier! Here is the link to the blog.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://cricutcraftroomblog.blogspot.com/">Cricut Craftroom Blog</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The author of the blog gives a great tutorial with all the steps on how to complete this. I was surprised how easy this became once I did it a few times. I will definitely be doing this in the future and will get me to use my Disney Carts more often.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This has to be done using the Cricut Craftroom with the Imagine. The only thing that did not work for me was my Imagine did not cut the image after it printed. It printed great and looked like it was going to start printing but stopped. I read on the message boards that others have had problems cutting with the Imagine using the Cricut Craftroom. So I will have to try and do some troubleshooting about this is the future. For this project I cut it out with scissors, which wasn't too bad because of the large shadow.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

</tbody></table><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">One think I love about the Imagine is being able to create and print custom colors. It lets you enter the RGB color that you want. It takes the guesswork out of matching colors. To find the RGB of a certain color I use a great little program called Color Cop. It is a free download and super easy to use. It lets you use a dropper icon to pick the color you want. To find the colors for Lotso I used the PDF of the Toy Story handbook on the Cricut site. This let me pick the perfect shades for the character. Here are the RGB codes the I used for each layer: (pg.66)</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">Base (shadow layer) - Black (a default color on the Imagine)</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center"><lotso-1> + shift : R243 G226 B203</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">layer 1 : R240 G81 B147</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">layer 1 + shift : R150 G 1 B95</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">layer 2 : White (a default color on the Imagine)</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">layer 2 + shift : R89 G19 B71</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">layer 3 : R221 G25 B37</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">layer 3 + shift : R228 G177 B122</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">I had a lot of fun making this and look forward to making some more of the characters in the future. Please check out the Cricut Craftroom Blog, it is a great resource on how to use this program. </div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">As I make more and more of the Disney characters I will list the RGB codes that I use, and will hopefully have some sort of comprehensive list in the future.</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">Thanks for stopping by, till next time....</div>Beauhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02508858422585168105noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1059200549374654203.post-73223480073117530842011-08-02T23:00:00.000-04:002011-08-02T23:00:10.760-04:00First L Letterpress Project ... Last week HSN had a great deal on the L Letterpress starter kit. I have been looking at getting this for awhile and finally took the plunge with the price, bundle, and free shipping. The kit came with the basic starter kit that they sell in the stores, but also included additional printing plates, inks, and papers. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I don't own the Epic Six but have a Big Shot (the old Ellsion version). I read on a number of blogs that the L Letterpress would work on the BigShot, and after a few trials and errors I think I got the hang of it.</div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2yyKLV7Vu3Q/TjivkvWwzaI/AAAAAAAAA0Q/snEVOEZpQk4/s1600/IMG_0362.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2yyKLV7Vu3Q/TjivkvWwzaI/AAAAAAAAA0Q/snEVOEZpQk4/s320/IMG_0362.JPG" t$="true" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">BigShot with the Letterpress plate</td></tr></tbody></table><div style="text-align: center;">After reading a number of blogs, looking at the Lifestyle Crafts website, and watching the video on the HSN website I learned a few tips. When inking up the brayer on the acrylic plate you don't need to use much a ink at all. It literally felt like a drop, I didn't think it it would be enough, but a little goes a long way.</div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NNgNnW8OwMc/Tjivv9A2iXI/AAAAAAAAA0U/qWff793Ov60/s1600/IMG_0364.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NNgNnW8OwMc/Tjivv9A2iXI/AAAAAAAAA0U/qWff793Ov60/s320/IMG_0364.JPG" t$="true" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Ink on the acrylic block</td></tr></tbody></table><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BwGlfMIq0Ew/Tjiv56sMmzI/AAAAAAAAA0Y/PSZYhVQ26B4/s1600/IMG_0365.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BwGlfMIq0Ew/Tjiv56sMmzI/AAAAAAAAA0Y/PSZYhVQ26B4/s320/IMG_0365.JPG" t$="true" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Ink on the actual printing press shape</td></tr></tbody></table><div style="text-align: center;"> And here is my very first print.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4UTHa0DLnYc/TjiwCzSdp8I/AAAAAAAAA0c/I1PgSazVZcE/s1600/IMG_0366.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4UTHa0DLnYc/TjiwCzSdp8I/AAAAAAAAA0c/I1PgSazVZcE/s320/IMG_0366.JPG" t$="true" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Not too bad</td></tr></tbody></table><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">After a couple of reinking and prints I noticed that there was some smudging and noncrisps lines. I think what was happening is that there was ink getting on the extra adhesive that remains after applying the adhesive sheets to the back of the printing shape plates. You may notice it above. After I removed all the adhesive and only put some in the center of the die it seemed to work better.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Also while using the Big Shot I felt that the Letterpress plate alone did not leave much of an impression, so I added a chipboard shim, one seemed to be enough, and two seemed to be too much. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I made a total of 8 cards, four of each design. We went up to Toronto for 5 nights last week. We have always loved this city and have visited many times before. But the last visit was over 5 years ago before we moved to New York City. It was nice to go back a little less wild and crazy and enjoy the sites, and not just go up to party all night, lol. (even though we had a few fun late nights thrown in)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The above picture is from Toronto Island. Beautiful! It was like Central Park on an island. I would be there all the time if we lived up there, and jealous NYC doesn't have a place like this with a huge park and a beautiful beach combined.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We walked around a lot of new areas we never visited before. The Distillery was a really cool area, lots of fun shops and public art. Here are some photos of that.</div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qByxN6EzJT4/TiT-NVm7phI/AAAAAAAAAzk/ApSh_knkUAo/s1600/IMG_0123.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qByxN6EzJT4/TiT-NVm7phI/AAAAAAAAAzk/ApSh_knkUAo/s320/IMG_0123.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Want!</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EeOIMmJBFyM/TiT-dD3GLqI/AAAAAAAAAzo/hY44kwzGgNM/s1600/IMG_0124.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EeOIMmJBFyM/TiT-dD3GLqI/AAAAAAAAAzo/hY44kwzGgNM/s320/IMG_0124.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Love</td></tr></tbody></table><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7MGyZd_UA9Y/TiUAaL8dbhI/AAAAAAAAA0A/XjpMswynGEk/s1600/268107_10150723217760161_678545160_19645038_93419_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7MGyZd_UA9Y/TiUAaL8dbhI/AAAAAAAAA0A/XjpMswynGEk/s320/268107_10150723217760161_678545160_19645038_93419_n.jpg" width="240" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Bought! Terrible. What is more terrible I think is I haven't crafted in the last two months either. Work, school, and living in NYC has been beyond busy as of late. Let me not complain though, I have had so much fun over the last few months. But I have missed crafting, and tonight I had nothing going on so I decided to play with my toys for a bit.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I was looking on the Cricut message boards and came across this project a lady named Beth had done. She made printed notecard using her Imagine. Her project is wonderful and really sparked my interest. I would never have thought of this on my own, so creative. Her post shows how you can use the Imagine in a different way, so great. Here is the link to her blog, it is great. So many good projects! I became a follower and so should you. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://thunderbirdlindybydesign.blogspot.com/2011/06/printing-note-cards-with-your-cricut.html">Thunderbirdlindy by Design: Printing note cards with your Cricut Imagine.</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">So onto what I did with it. I love the Imagine carts. The artwork is so fun and playful. I recently purchased the Better Together cart. Such cute shapes, and I fell in love with the cupcake with the long eyelashes. I thought this would be the perfect design for a notecard, fun and cheerful. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Like on her blog I lined up where I wanted the image to print on my card. I layed the card down making sure it would be right side up for the printed image. Because you can not yet choose where to print on the mat you have to do a work around. To do this I picked the square shape that is already loaded on the Imagine. I adjusted the sizes and arrangement a number of times before I got it to line up well. This was the most time consuming part. I can't wait for an upgrade where the Imagine screen will work like the Gypsy. I could have tried using the Cricut Craft Room, but have read people aren't having much luck, and I didn't want to waste time. Now that I have done it I think it will go a lot quicker next time. </div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KKGFWlI45Xc/ThPIJvkBOKI/AAAAAAAAAzE/72kcKI-cg8w/s1600/IMG_0086.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KKGFWlI45Xc/ThPIJvkBOKI/AAAAAAAAAzE/72kcKI-cg8w/s320/IMG_0086.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">What the Imagine screen looked like before the prints</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-juoyyAZjJ-E/ThPISustidI/AAAAAAAAAzI/GQxTppgsbsU/s1600/IMG_0087.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-juoyyAZjJ-E/ThPISustidI/AAAAAAAAAzI/GQxTppgsbsU/s320/IMG_0087.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Also make sure you change to print only, instead of the default Print & Cut</td></tr></tbody></table><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Jwp89umpuog/ThPIZXPWHzI/AAAAAAAAAzM/i1i64Ia7vs4/s1600/IMG_0095.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Jwp89umpuog/ThPIZXPWHzI/AAAAAAAAAzM/i1i64Ia7vs4/s320/IMG_0095.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Here's a closeup</td></tr></tbody></table><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">On a side note. I haven't used my Imagine in awhile, more than a couple of months, a shame I know. When I printed the first card the image was grainy and had lines in it. I thought maybe I needed to change the ink cartridges, but the machine said they were okay. So I thought I would give cleaning the printer heads a shot to see if it made a difference. And it did, you can see the difference below. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9NM3jc0CksE/ThPIhlVdJrI/AAAAAAAAAzQ/aSdxLxip14c/s1600/IMG_0096.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9NM3jc0CksE/ThPIhlVdJrI/AAAAAAAAAzQ/aSdxLxip14c/s320/IMG_0096.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Before cleaning the heads</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VGRD8hai6NQ/ThPIovReT7I/AAAAAAAAAzU/2kqJ5YIEbkA/s1600/IMG_0097.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VGRD8hai6NQ/ThPIovReT7I/AAAAAAAAAzU/2kqJ5YIEbkA/s320/IMG_0097.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">After cleaning the heads</td></tr></tbody></table><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">So hopefully another two months doesn't go by before I use my Imagine, but if it does I will clean the printer heads before.</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">Thanks for stopping by, and I hope this won't be my only post for the month of July, lol</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>Beauhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02508858422585168105noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1059200549374654203.post-72663108577381286432011-05-04T21:55:00.000-04:002011-05-04T21:55:55.303-04:00Happy Birthday Keith Haring!!! And a Keith Yudu Project!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EeJd1ejF7p8/TcH8Vu5OvnI/AAAAAAAAAyg/VlS5VY1SY3w/s1600/IMG_0006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" j8="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EeJd1ejF7p8/TcH8Vu5OvnI/AAAAAAAAAyg/VlS5VY1SY3w/s320/IMG_0006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So I have been absolutely obsessed with Keith Haring as of late. I had always liked the images I've seen of his, but never really knew much about him. I watched an amazing and highly recommended documentary about his life and art called The Universe of Keith Haring. It was beyond inspiring, beautiful, and sad. He was truly an incredible artist that brought simple beauty to the world for all to enjoy. He wanted his art to be accessible to anyone and everyone, and wanted us all to see that art and creativity is an important gift to mankind. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TQPzA8rHzzI/TcH8V9hPIxI/AAAAAAAAAyk/6tk9vs4plF4/s1600/imagesCAETS69F.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" j8="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TQPzA8rHzzI/TcH8V9hPIxI/AAAAAAAAAyk/6tk9vs4plF4/s1600/imagesCAETS69F.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Watching this movie, reading about him, and looking through his body of work has made a huge impact on me. And not to sound too sentimental, my perception about many things have been altered. He did so much, and wanted to do so much more, before his beyond to soon passing. Today would have been his 53rd birthday, so I want to say Happy Birthday Keith, your legacy and life still inspires us all, and thank you for all that you were able to accomplish in your short time here.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_uh2EKLIbNM/TcH8W47dGHI/AAAAAAAAAyo/cnMdYQWMBpA/s1600/imagesCA4AOOXF.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="133" j8="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_uh2EKLIbNM/TcH8W47dGHI/AAAAAAAAAyo/cnMdYQWMBpA/s320/imagesCA4AOOXF.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">My guy and I were able to go to a gallery opening today of a collection of his works at the Gladstone Gallery here in the city. It was amazing and beautiful. It reaffirmed my love for NYC and to continue to commit to live life to the fullest and find joy in all we do, life is too short and to beautiful to waste time. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l0ZFV_YIO88/TcH8xNOe6DI/AAAAAAAAAys/LZnf-CbLqUs/s1600/Keith_Haring_homage_on_Houston_Street_3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" j8="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l0ZFV_YIO88/TcH8xNOe6DI/AAAAAAAAAys/LZnf-CbLqUs/s320/Keith_Haring_homage_on_Houston_Street_3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So now on to the craft project! Awhile ago I bought some neon inks for the YuDu. I really had no idea what I would use them for, but loving the 80's I knew I would find a use. And I did. One night while looking at some Keith Haring images I found these line drawings of a robot DJ and a dog DJ. I thought it would look cool to combine them together to make a shirt. It was very easy to combine these images in Photoshop to have one overall image to burn a screen. Because there were some fine lines I used the 220 mesh screen. (the higher the mesh count, the finer the detail that can be achieved). I really loved the way this turned out and can't wait to wear it. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Pud_Cx1eQ4U/TcH83Hqzx1I/AAAAAAAAAyw/1ySm5-SRxPE/s1600/IMG_0001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" j8="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Pud_Cx1eQ4U/TcH83Hqzx1I/AAAAAAAAAyw/1ySm5-SRxPE/s320/IMG_0001.JPG" width="213" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here's another fun image of the shirt with the vivid option on my camera.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vsfgw8R8qKU/TcH8_G92pwI/AAAAAAAAAy0/S7CFPgBYdUE/s1600/IMG_0004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="210" j8="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vsfgw8R8qKU/TcH8_G92pwI/AAAAAAAAAy0/S7CFPgBYdUE/s320/IMG_0004.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">Thanks for stopping by. Easter 2010 Cart & Cricut<div class="mobile-photo" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4hGOEoHRYyg/TbTdPH8uyTI/AAAAAAAAAyI/DC8aRDK69B4/s1600/photo%2B1-747385.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5599343488629918002" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4hGOEoHRYyg/TbTdPH8uyTI/AAAAAAAAAyI/DC8aRDK69B4/s320/photo%2B1-747385.JPG" /></a></div><div class="mobile-photo" style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="mobile-photo" style="text-align: center;">Wow it has been ages since I have blogged. I've been doing some projects here an there but more YuDu projects. (hopefully get some pics up soon)</div><br /><br /><br /><br />My life has been in a whirlwind as of late. Haven't really had the time or energy to craft much. New opportunities have been popping up all over the place, which is amazing and I feel so blessed. Still trying to catch up though.<br /><br /><br /><br />So on to the card. My guy asked me to make Communion invites for one of his coworkers. And this is what I came up with. Much thanks to my friend Rosina who got my mind in create mode and pretty much came up with the design, and the use of the Easter 2010 Cart & the cuttlebug folder, :-)<br /><br /><br /><br />For this card I used Perfect Pearls Mists for the first time. I saw Tim Holtz demo these on HSN and I really wanted them but they sold out so quick. Was able to pick up a bottle of the Pearl (clear/shimmer) at out LSS. And let me say it worked awesome. I own some of the Tattered Angels, but not a huge fan and they never seem to look great. The Pearls Mists worked great, can't wait to get some more colors.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-09Y6vWvors8/TbTdPpcPc2I/AAAAAAAAAyQ/xBjUhT_JhIk/s1600/photo%2B2-749564.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5599343497620452194" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-09Y6vWvors8/TbTdPpcPc2I/AAAAAAAAAyQ/xBjUhT_JhIk/s320/photo%2B2-749564.JPG" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">For the card I used standard A2 size, cut cross with shadow at 3 3/4 inches. I printed the inside of the computer, because for some reason, out of the many stamps I own none had anything for an invite. Will need to get one soon. Made a total of 20 invites. Hope she enjoys, I think they came out really simple but pretty.</div><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Perfect project I needed to get done to post on Easter Sunday.</div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-liYa_q-Np74/TbTdP4D4OhI/AAAAAAAAAyY/hKOIMbfyOOo/s1600/photo%2B3-750437.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5599343501544798738" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-liYa_q-Np74/TbTdP4D4OhI/AAAAAAAAAyY/hKOIMbfyOOo/s320/photo%2B3-750437.JPG" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Hope everyone enjoyed thier holiday. It's been a long time since I posted something. All I can say is that Feb was a crazy month and went by super fast. I barely got any crafting done. My schedule should be freeing up a bit, so hopefully that results in more crafting time. I wanted to share my latest Yudu project.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So like many people in the world right now I am kinda obsessed with Lady GaGa, and I love her new song Born This Way. As soon as I heard it I knew I wanted to take some of the lyrics and make a shirt, and this is what I came up with.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-0VlVeqG-yJk/TW18wa_nYuI/AAAAAAAAAxw/l5kT4EsefBs/s1600/IMG_0070.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" l6="true" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-0VlVeqG-yJk/TW18wa_nYuI/AAAAAAAAAxw/l5kT4EsefBs/s320/IMG_0070.JPG" width="213" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I usually print off stuff from my computer to make a screen for the Yudu, but my ink was running low and I only had one transparency left. Also I didn't have any crown images, and didn't feel like searching the Internet for one. I knew a couple of the carts I had would work, but I was hesitant. I didn't know how I would line the words up well on glass of the Yudu, and I didn't want to have the letters welded (which would make the lining up easier). So I found a way to easily use Cricut cuts with the Yudu.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-D0yKe9jBdLY/TW1838fELRI/AAAAAAAAAx0/Cabtxj7lOM0/s1600/IMG_0100.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" l6="true" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-D0yKe9jBdLY/TW1838fELRI/AAAAAAAAAx0/Cabtxj7lOM0/s320/IMG_0100.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">What I did was I used some repositionable cardstock I had. I used the Post It craft paper, which cuts very well in the Cricut. And I placed them on a piece of craft acrylic I had. I bought a pack of this acrylic awhile ago at Michaels. Its from Grafix and called Craft Plastic. It was the perfect medium to adhere the die cuts, but still allowing the light from the Yudu shine through it expose the screen. For this project I used Printing Press (love this funky font) and Rock Princess. Here is what it looks like off the glass mat of the Yudu.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9sUM5YCA_B4/TW187AutEPI/AAAAAAAAAx4/ZEb3sZD93c4/s1600/IMG_0101.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" l6="true" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9sUM5YCA_B4/TW187AutEPI/AAAAAAAAAx4/ZEb3sZD93c4/s320/IMG_0101.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I definitely will be using this technique again with my Cricut cuts. It was super easy. Here's what the screen looked like after it was exposed.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-ztTYAlnjhZs/TW18-1CgEwI/AAAAAAAAAx8/Gqo_kXPSCv8/s1600/IMG_0103.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" l6="true" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-ztTYAlnjhZs/TW18-1CgEwI/AAAAAAAAAx8/Gqo_kXPSCv8/s320/IMG_0103.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This was a super fun project to make. I had an extra canvas bag so I printed the image on this also. I added some beads of black ink, along with the silver that was already on the screen. I really like how it tuned out, totally unique and random.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ByyYy_tGbAM/TW19GvfbnZI/AAAAAAAAAyA/9rS7-e4WcZQ/s1600/IMG_0104.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" l6="true" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ByyYy_tGbAM/TW19GvfbnZI/AAAAAAAAAyA/9rS7-e4WcZQ/s320/IMG_0104.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Another shot of the shirt.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-GRd3cghHn_8/TW19Xhbz1LI/AAAAAAAAAyE/xYus-JQ2e5M/s1600/IMG_0069.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" l6="true" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-GRd3cghHn_8/TW19Xhbz1LI/AAAAAAAAAyE/xYus-JQ2e5M/s320/IMG_0069.JPG" width="213" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I got to wear this shirt out a couple of nights ago and people loved it. My coworkers and I have put together a team of cyclers to raise money for rare cancer research. This is a great event and we helped raise almost $5,000 last year. We really want to surpass that amount and are very close. The event takes place on Feb. 13th on 5th Ave. in Manhattan.</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div align="center">Here's a little bit more about the event (taken from the website)</div><div align="center"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Founded in 2007 by patient Jennifer Goodman Linn, Cycle for Survival is the indoor team cycling fundraiser that has raised more than $4.5 million in support of research on rare cancers at Memorial Sloan-Kettering.</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Each year, thousands of cyclists team up with friends, family, and coworkers in the ride against cancer in New York City, Chicago, and at satellite events around the world! It is through fundraising and donations that research can be done. This research will one day beat the cancer and offer a cure for all.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">If you are able please stop my donation page and donate any amount (no amount is too small). This was so fun to do! I used the Cricut Imagine and the Kate's Kitchen art cart. I made this recipe project to give to a great friend who loves to cook. I started this project and was finally able to complete it today. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">For this project I used the Kate's Kitchen art cart and the From My Kitchen cart. The recipe album is one of the bonus cuts from the Kate's Kitchen. I cut that image at the Fit to Page feature, so don't know the true size. This cut the front, back and to recipe cards on a 12x12 piece of paper. I also cut two additional recipe cards from the bonus section of the cart 2 times for a total of 4 other recipe cards, an overall total of 6 recipe cards. For these cuts I cut them out at 8.2 inches true size, this was size that most matched a true 4x6 recipe card. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I embellished these recipe cards with image cuts from the Kate's cart. These were all cut at 2inches at true size. These printed and cut so well, and came out so cute. I broke the layers up to get the exact pieces I wanted. For the word art I used the words from From My Kitchen cart, cut them at 1 inch and colored them in with the Imagine and colors from the Kate's cart, this way they matched really well.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I had some kitchy recipe cards I had gotten at Michales in the dollar bin and have been meaning to use these forever. This was the perfect project for them. I used the Big Bite to punch holes through the recipe cards and put all the pieces together with a couple of jump rings.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;
