Mini Monster Fun

Got to play with my new Cricut cart today. I am in love with Mini Monsters. It is one of my favorite new carts, and can't believe they arrived to retail so quickly. Was able to pick it up Sunday at AC Moore, along with Cindy Loo as well.

When I first saw previews for the Monster cart I knew I had to make one of the monster bags, so adorable. It was pretty easy to put together as well.

I cut this bag on the Cricut using the 12 x 24 mat, along with 12 x 24 paper, Cricut brand. I have had the mats and paper for awhile, but this is the first project I actually used to cut something out. Cut the base of the bag at 11 1/2 inches (the darker green color), I used the fit to length button, so I think this is the largest it can be cut. All other shapes were cut at 11 1/2 inches also, but was able to use a 12 x 12 mat for those pieces. If you make one of these I have a little advise. Adhere the elements onto the bag while its still flat and not put together. I didn't think this through and got a little excited, really wanted to see how the bag looked. I scored and adhered the bag to its shape first. It was a little difficult to glue all the elements on the front of the bag after it was put together. So next time I will do that and it will go a lot quicker.

I can see using this bag for party favors, hanging decorations, and possibly as a card holder for some monster themed cards like the ones below. Just got to play around with sizes to find the right fir, not too big and not too small.

Here's a couple of monster cards I made with the cart as well.

This monster was cut at 4 inches. It was really easy to put together. The layers remind me of Creative Critters, which makes it super simple and quick to put together. I really like how the layers of the new carts are assembled. Seems to be a lot easier and quicker to me.

Used DCWV Cardstock
Hampton Art Card Base from last fall
Monster themes stamps form Recollection (found at Michaels)
Close to My Heart Ink

For this card, I used the same supplies as above. I think this is my favorite monster on the cart, it is so funny. This monster was cut a little smaller at 3 1/4 inch, so it could fit on the card base.

This is going to be such a fun cart to create with. I see a lot of possibilities for cards, scrapbooks, mini albums, and decorations. Will be playing around with this one for a while. Currently designing a shape album with it on the Gypsy. But will be a few weeks till complete, working a ton over the next two weeks.
