Yes Sue Sylvester I Will Yudu You & Blog Giveaway!

So I finally got to bust the Yudu out today. It's been awhile since I have made a project with it. I have been meaning to make this Sue Sylvester shirt for awhile now. I love GLEE, one of my favorite shows. I came up with this idea to do this shirt right after the Madonna episode aired. But like many project ideas I forgot about it (I really should keep a journal). But we watched the Emmy's Sunday night and the opening GLEE number was amazing. It made me remember my idea for this shirt and I thought this will definitely be my next project.

To get the image I took a screenshot from the YouTube vid of Sue Sylvester doing the Vogue number. I tweaked the image in Photoshop Elements. Trying to create a half-tone image. Most of the tutorials on how to do this were for the full version of Photoshop (which I would love but no way can afford). But I did find a tutorial that helps create this effect using PSE. Basically what I did was:

Choose the file and then changed it to greyscale using Image > Mode > Greyscale
Then I altered it into a type of half-tone using Filter > Sketch > Halftone Pattern
Once in this option I played around with the size, contrast and pattern till I got what I liked.

Once the image was edited to the way I liked it. I preformed the basic steps to make a screen, expose, and screen print. I really love how this came out and can't wait to wear it.

Here's a light canvas bag I had laying around that I put the image on also

And here's the shirt on the platen.

Also I now have over 75 followers!!! So exciting. As promised I will be doing a giveaway to celebrate another blog achievement! Here is a pic of two stamps I am giving away:

One of them is Something Splendid, the August stamp of the month from Close to My Heart & the other is stamp set from Art Warehouse called Summer Vibe.

I will be selecting a winner sometime around the weekend or Labor Day. To have a chance to win the stamp sets please leave a comment under this post and be a follower.

Thanks again to all that follow, comment, and visit my blog. It really means the world to me! So exciting!

p.s. the new CTMH catalog/idea book comes out tomorrow and there are some awesome new paper lines, stamps, and embellishments for your paper crafts. And most exciting to me the new How-To Book Magic! I'm awaiting my order and will feature some of the new products soon. Make sure to check out the new catalog/idea book tomorrow or whenever you get a chance.

  7. Thank you so much for posting this. I do demos at M's and had a customer ask me about doing photos...as I do not have a personal Yudu I really couldn't answer their question & felt badly about it! I really appriciate you sharing this with everyone.

  8. Congrats on your milestone.

I adore your Sue Sylvester image and projects. It looks fabulous. I'm a fan of Glee too.

In fact, hearing "Don't Stop Believing" on Glee, inspired me to take up my flute again after 20 years, so I could learn this song.

Thanks for inviting us to join in the celebrations with this generous candy.

I am a follower of your blog.
