First Cricut Imagine Projects: Cards, decor, and printable vinyl

So today was the day I got to open, set-up, and use the Imagine machine. So far so good. When I was first setting it up it took a few times to get the mat to load and calibrate properly but they were just small hiccups. Its been smooth sailing ever since.

So my initial reactions:
Wow this thing is huge
Wow this is heavy
Wow this is easy
Wow, this is gonna be another crafting addiction, lol

The projects I made playing around were super simple to do. I think the Imagine is going to save a lot of time, especially for projects that you need to get done quick, like cards. Here's a couple I did today:

Nursery Tales Cart Used:

I love this image, and it makes a quick cute baby card. This was my first print and cut. Broke up into layers and used default cut boarder setting (which I didn't know you could change at first). The patterned paper is also printed and cut from the Imagine. I think this is so awesome, having coordinated papers you're able to print and use. Everything matches so well. Used foam tape to add to the dimension of the card for the turtle and mushroom.

Imagine More Cart Used:

This cart is great and has so many cool and vintage images. The base of this card was printed with the Imagine. Again used foam adhesive to make it pop. Stamped the sentiment with some Close to My Heart stamps. This card from start to finish took about 5 minutes, including the printing and cutting.

Here's a quick gift I made using the Best Friends Cart:

Have a friend that just got a cat. Gonna add some magnet to the back so she can put it on her fridge with a new pic of her kitty. The frame was cut with boarder option set to zero, and the cat and cushion with border option set to one. It looks so great! Its really precise. Also love that you can change the patterns and colors of the images. The frame in the handbook is a distressed yellow (which is great) but I just thought these clouds looked better.

Here's some other pics of cuts made:

Nursery Tales (default Border)

Imagine More (boarder option set to none/zero)

And here is my favorite again!

Used the Mini Monster cart and printed with the Imagine on printable vinyl! OMG!, Im in love, lol. It was so easy to do this. Just pick the colors and layers, and then print. Did this for my guy, who loves the Mini Monster Cart. Now his laptop looks so hip. This is going to open a world of possibilities. I used the printable vinyl that came with the Imagine, but have some on the way from HSN. I really want to embellish my kitchen cabinets with vinyl, but gonna wait till I get Kate's Kitchen. Those images look amazing!

So overall, I am so happy I got the Imagine. Its really cool and excited to learn more about it and the features. Will post when I find or learn more things. Thanks for stopping by!

p.s. So happy to have over 100 followers, amazing! Will be putting together a blog giveaway soon, so keep on the look out!

  6. The vinyl is great! I was looking at some precut ones at Michaels the otherday and this will be so much less expensive. Thanks for the idea. I might have to rethink the imagine.
