Yudu Project Lady GaGa Inspiration...Don't Be A Drag, Be A Queen

Wow! It's been a long time since I posted something. All I can say is that Feb was a crazy month and went by super fast. I barely got any crafting done. My schedule should be freeing up a bit, so hopefully that results in more crafting time. I wanted to share my latest Yudu project.

So like many people in the world right now I am kinda obsessed with Lady GaGa, and I love her new song Born This Way. As soon as I heard it I knew I wanted to take some of the lyrics and make a shirt, and this is what I came up with.

I usually print off stuff from my computer to make a screen for the Yudu, but my ink was running low and I only had one transparency left. Also I didn't have any crown images, and didn't feel like searching the Internet for one. I knew a couple of the carts I had would work, but I was hesitant. I didn't know how I would line the words up well on glass of the Yudu, and I didn't want to have the letters welded (which would make the lining up easier). So I found a way to easily use Cricut cuts with the Yudu.

What I did was I used some repositionable cardstock I had. I used the Post It craft paper, which cuts very well in the Cricut. And I placed them on a piece of craft acrylic I had. I bought a pack of this acrylic awhile ago at Michaels. Its from Grafix and called Craft Plastic. It was the perfect medium to adhere the die cuts, but still allowing the light from the Yudu shine through it expose the screen. For this project I used Printing Press (love this funky font) and Rock Princess. Here is what it looks like off the glass mat of the Yudu.

I definitely will be using this technique again with my Cricut cuts. It was super easy. Here's what the screen looked like after it was exposed.

This was a super fun project to make. I had an extra canvas bag so I printed the image on this also. I added some beads of black ink, along with the silver that was already on the screen. I really like how it tuned out, totally unique and random.

I got to wear this shirt out a couple of nights ago and people loved it. That is why i love the Yudu, custom and unique clothing!
